GKL has been operating the “Seven Luck” Casino franchise for foreigners in Korea since we were founded in September 2005. We’ve greatly contributed to our country's economic development by attracting many foreign travelers ever since our founding.
Most countries with a large influx of tourists such as America, France, Spain and the United Kingdom also offer long established casinos. Neighboring Asian countries such as Macao, Singapore, and Philippines also make huge investments in casinos, developing them into a major strategic industry.
These countries’ governments are working to attract investments and promote the casino industry because of its positive impacts on many tourism sectors such as travel, accommodation, food, shopping, and convention services. Casinos also make a substantial contribution to their national economies and other industries by attracting many foreign travelers and creating jobs.
Many people, however, still have a negative view of the casino industry: they regard it as a hotbed for tax evasion and corruption rather than recognizing its economic and industrial benefits. This untrue bias hinders the development of the casino industry, which is crucial to the development of the entire tourism industry.
I therefore would like to propose the following to overcome these difficulties and other various internal and external challenges for GKL.
GKL should put the top priority on “ethical management principles” for transparent corporate governance.
We will maintain a top-notch level of transparency in management in Korea to improve the negative reputation and prejudice against the casino industry. GKL will continue to maintain our ethical management principles and help the casino industry gain the positive recognition it deserves.
GKL should create “future growth potentials” for sustainable management.
GKL should swiftly respond to rapidly diversifying market circumstances to maintain global competitiveness and sustainable growth. Our company will categorize customers by considering regional and geographic features, establish the appropriate strategies, and implement these management strategies in the ways best suited for serving various customer groups such as trading businessmen, medical tourists, or senior travelers.
GKL will make further efforts to "maximize values for shareholders.”
The increase in corporate values leads a rise in value for shareholders. GKL will work with our utmost effort to accomplish our annual sales and admission targets and maintain stable operations by strengthening internal audits, reducing budgetary waste, and making productive investments to maximize profits.
GKL will enhance “communication” and a sense of unity among its staff.
The company should establish global communication environments to survive in rapidly changing market circumstances, as well as increase our competitiveness.
